I celebrated my girlfriend's birthday at your hotel. She and I had an impressive experience, from courteously being offered champagne upon arrival, to dining at your renowned Scampo. The service and accommodations were impeccable and lived up to every expectation she and I had of the Liberty Hotel. We had a wonderful time and will return again.

Loved the champagne at check-in; the room was beautiful, and I liked the chocolates, water, etc. loved the key with "solitary" indicating a guest does not wish to be disturbed. Restaurants are both excellent and everyone at the hotel was professional and friendly. I also was thrilled that my room was large- even though the rate wasn't. It was a great experience. I also appreciated the soaking tub with great toiletries.

This is my second stay at The Liberty Hotel. The design/renovation of this building is fun, classy, and neat. I am comfortable in this hotel, like the rooms and bathrooms, gym, bar and dining options. The location is key, near a T stop, etc. I like being greeted with a glass of Cava, too!

The Hotel reservations were very helpful and although we made a few changes, they were polite and did find us a terrific room rate. The room was lovely and the complimentary champagne was a nice surprise. Alibi was perfect...food was delicious and service was excellent. The Hotel was lively and full of FUN, very Festive and nicely decorated for Christmas. We enjoyed sitting in the Lobby and people watching, too. Check-out was so easy. The car was ready almost immediately, even though it was a Sunday morning and many were leaving. We will definitely stay again.

Location was great. Hotel bars were great. Check-in was fast and friendly. Champagne was a nice touch. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Late night room service was fast. Valet was friendly when we picked up our vehicle. I will definitely return. I travel frequently and this ranks up there with one if my Favirties.

It is an architecturally exciting building, fun to just be there. All the employees we encountered from check in to restaurants to room service were helpful, friendly and professional. We enjoyed both restaurants very much and the jazz combo in the Lobby/Lobby Bar was a special treat. Scampo was especially memorable...and our server was terrific.

Never experienced such a wonderful bar in the lobby at night. Very excited. Modern feeling in historical places. The staff is also nice. Exciting and powerful at bar, very diligent and hospitality in checking in and out.

This hotel far exceeded my already high expectations. The staff was incredibly courteous. For example, when our travel plans unexpectedly changed, we arrived at the hotel at 11:30am. Without any hesitation, they had a wonderful room ready for us. While booking the hotel, I was worried about the potential for noise, as I know the hotel is a hotspot for both guests and non guests. My worries were unfounded and I found the room quiet and relaxing. Overall, we had a great weekend.

I had originally heard of the Liberty Hotel while watching a local news program. The hotel was originally a Boston jailhouse that was renovated into a luxury hotel. The lobby still retains much of the original structure, including the jail cell bars. The front desk staff was very helpful and because it was my wife's birthday, they gave each of us a glass of champagne to take to our room.The room itself was very comfortable and modern in decor. The hotel also had several bars and restaurants on site including Alibi and Clink. Liberty's location on the Charles River makes it very central to most of the major hot spots in Boston. If you're looking for a great, upscale hotel th Liberty Hotel is an excellent choice.

This was one of my favorite hotels I have ever stayed at...it had an awesome staff from valet right through to housekeeping. Everyone I encountered on staff was so helpful and kind. My hotel experience was complete with a cherry top. It should be a model for the other properties in the Luxury Collection.

I live just north of Boston, so I know the hotels in town quite well. If you're looking for a fun place to stay with the liveliest lobby in Boston, you've found it. Alibi and the lobby are always a blast on the weekends. And, if you're lucky enough to have Calvin check you in, you'll feel like a VIP the moment you walk in the door.

My entire family of 20 (including 6 children) was there recently for the weekend. We had a wonderful time. The staff was more than accommodating. I was concerned that my grandchildren would be comfortable and welcomed at your exclusive hotel; but my fears were erased as soon as we arrived. Your staff at the front desk were very welcoming & even gave the children candy apples for Halloween. We will definitely make this a destination point on our next trip to Boston.

This is a unique hotel in the world. It has a breathtaking architecture and decoration, interesting history and an outstanding service that is not in your face. It is conveniently located in Boston.

Beautifully renovated building with comfortable rooms, good location, and exceptional service and amenities. Champagne at check-in, cocktail shaker and elegant glassware in the room, very comfortable bedding. The restaurants are above average, especially Scampo. The remnants of jail architecture make the setting unique. We will make this our preferred hotel in Boston.

I had the pleasure of spending several nights at The Liberty Hotel this past week. All I can say is WOW! What a hotel. I have stayed in many wonderful, highly rated, luxury hotels, but there was something special about the Liberty. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much to ask. They all seemed to really enjoy their work and it showed in their attitudes. My room was comfortable and spotless. The bathroom was unbelievable; it was very large, had both a shower and large soaking tub and was stocked with full sized Molton Brown products. The Liberty is located in the Beacon Hill area, and felt very safe; I can't wait to go back.

We went for a weekend getaway and the hotel was gorgeous. When you first enter the hotel, it takes you back to when it was once a hotel with their prison cells and the large open check in area. The rooms are very clean and the hotel staff was amazing! They offered us champagne and sitting in the lobby was great! You could take in the history as well as the elegance of the updated hotel. The atmosphere was great! Highly recommend!

My stay at your hotel was not only luxurious, it was a First class Experience. From the moment I arrived to the complimentary bottles of water when I left my wife and I knew we were staying at one of Boston's treasures. Everyone made us feel welcome. The staff at the Front Desk were so bubbly and friendly. I can't tell you in words the joy we experienced staying at your hotel. The history, ambiance, luxury and great food was everything we hoped for by Starwood. We are raving to all our friends how great the stay was and many of them said they wanted to stay there too on their next visit. Our only regret was that we weren't there long enough.

After only viewing the hotel online, I was very impressed with the entire property in person. Just sitting in the lobby and taking in the richness of the building and seeing evidence of the actual jail was amazing. The lobby is transformed nightly in to something different, one night a catwalk for a fashion show, another more like an upscale club. The in-room dining was quite impressive as well - definitely not your typical "room service." Great restaurants and bars around and in the hotel and nearby, easy access to the T - Boston's subway/train system. Can walk easily to Charles Street, Newbury Street, the Gardens, North End - really a central location. Overall, very satisfied with the Liberty and would recommend it highly.

You can only be amazed by this hotel, upon entrance in the foyer and going up to your room, it's great. We were in the old prison bit and it is lovely and well renovated and the room size is generous when compared with other hotels. Also the room was clean and not dusty. The bathroom amenities, wow. Full sized Molton brown. I have stayed in some big and expensive hotels and I have never had full sized Molten Brown products. There was also free wi-fi which is great as other big chain hotels I stayed in Boston have charged for it. Such a great extra and goes to show the hotel with all its facilities and amenities for customers is appreciated. Thanks Liberty Hotel, keep up the good and quality offering, I hope to come back one day and trust me I am very particular with hotels!

What a unique, memorable, nostalgic place! Everything from the exterior to the interior was incredible. The history of the place is intriguing. Clink was great. Rooms/service/food was phenomenal. There isn't even a need to go out at night to find nightlife, because on the weekend the place is hoppin'. Definitely worth checking out!

Loved the staff especially the look of the open lobby, the activity, the food and ambiance. Scampo was outstanding! The lighting for the art display on Tuesday evening was amazing. We were excited as we had been to the hotel for dinner prior to our stay. From the beginning with Brent and Calvin, to the driver we used named Patrick, to the fantastic staff at Scampo, the room, the sparkling always tidy common areas to checkout, it was all fantastic. We are pretty savy travelers and this is a definite return. We can even bring our dog! We had friends with us and they felt everything "exceeded expectation."

We loved everything about the Liberty! It is so beautiful and fabulously decorated. The lobby and lobby bar area are just amazing to hang around in. Our room was fabulous and the view of the Charles River a great bonus. Loved the bathroom. Great walk-to location too. Could walk all over Beacon Hill neighborhood, to the Commons quickly and the areas around there, the Charles River shore, etc. Enjoyed the lobby bar so much we stayed and ate dinner at the bar. Great bartender, good drinks/wine/beer menu and really good food. When we checked out and got our car from valet, they had put two bottles of "Liberty Hotel" water in our cup holders. Not one complaint---all was just great. We will certainly stay at the Liberty Hotel when we go back to Boston.

The design, especially of the public spaces was great and the staff was exceptionally friendly. The Liberty was originally a jail, and this adaptive reuse of space was phenomenal. It was warm enough to spend time in the beautiful outdoor bar and to dine outdoors, as well.

I am a Starwood member, and there were a few good choices in Boston the night I stayed here. The hotel is very nice. It has a very interesting history as a converted prison from the late 1800's. It is a bit trendy and hip, which I enjoyed. The lobby is especially cool. There are lots of local neighbor hood places to eat and drink to just a short walk to Beacon Hill.

I feel so at home at the LIBERTY in Boston. The attention to detail is amazing....nothing needs to be requested. Each PERSON working there is HAPPY to assist, if needed, and with a SMILE. The champagne reception at check-in is a wonderful touch, especially after a long drive.

I was staying at the Liberty because I was scheduled for cancer surgery. Every member of your staff was so accommodating and dedicated to making my wife feel comfortable that we felt we were with a family. Our stay at the liberty eased the anxiety of waiting. We look forward to staying at the Liberty for a happier occasion and we are grateful for the time we were there.

We just spent 3 nights at the hotel liberty and had a great time there. We had a room on the 13th floor and stayed there Sunday to Wednesday. It was spacious with a huge bed and a great bathroom (particularly the very deep tub). The lobby is spectacular and a great place to have a drink. We also found the staff very friendly and helpful. Great location too, both in terms of seeing the sights in Boston and transport for further afield (right by a metro stop and good for the airport and driving out of the city).

My wife and I spent a one night "getaway" at the Liberty Hotel on the Charles River in Boston. The Liberty is an appendage to the old Charles Street Jail and provides a unique lodging experience. The atrium of the old jail forms a multi-story lobby with balconies leading to the former cells. Rooms are in an integrated addition and provide everything you would expect in a modern luxury establishment. The service was attentive without being intrusive. The room size was slightly above average for a city hotel with room to relax on a couch near the big window which afforded a grand view of Boston by day as well as by night.

The architecture and the decor of the hotel, being a former huge jail house, are worth the stay by themselves. The entire staff is excellently trained. Great open 5 story high central lobby, a bar area using original brick that is neatly configured behind many jail doors, as well as memorabilia of the jail and its conversion to a hotel everywhere. Dining in the hotel and nearby in Beacon Hill gives delicious choices of Italian, French and American cuisine. The room was spacious, luxurious and contemporary.

I absolutely loved the Liberty Hotel. I am an event planner for a bank and come to Boston quite often. The space was amazing and I hope to host a future event in the Hotel. I thought the Champagne at check-in is a very nice touch. The rooms are great and I enjoyed the robe and Molton Brown amenities. I had the pleasure of coming back to Fashionably LATE Thursdays and have already recommended the Hotel to many of my associates and colleagues. I also had a very nice lunch at the Clink.

The hotel used to be a jail - oodles of character and such an impressive lobby! Complimentary champagne on check in, Molton Brown products in the bathroom, and free wireless internet. Really enjoyed our stay - shame we weren't staying longer!

The associate at the front desk was lovely. We received champagne and a warm reception. Our room was classy and comfortable. The staff, from the porters to the managers we passed in the hallways, were lovely. My mother has stage four cancer and is being treated at MGH. I will be staying at The Liberty much more. The rate they offered me and the hospitality they showed was such a gift at this time. I could not be more grateful.

The Liberty Hotel is in a great location on Charles Street overlooking the river. The most fantastic thing about this place is that it used to be a jail. The staff is so gracious and you are offered a glass of sparkling wine upon check-in. The restaurant is excellent and overall the vibe is hip and relaxed. Running path along the river is right across the street.

Our fifth stay was as fantastic as our first stay in this superb hotel, which is a brilliant and award winning makeover from Boston's notorious old Charles Street Jail (which was Court-ordered to close several decades ago because of overcrowding).The comfort of the rooms, world class quality of the food outlets, and especially the excellent level of personal service will continue to bring us back to the Liberty Hotel again and again.

We were due to visit Cape Cod but decided to stay in Boston because of Hurricane Irene approaching. We booked at the last minute not knowing what to expect. The reception is very impressive and the staff was all friendly. Our room was lovely, clean and the bathroom was gorgeous with lovely Molton Brown toiletries. The complimentary tea/coffee in the morning was a nice touch. We had lunch and dinner in Clink and both were excellent and good value. Our dinner in the Italian downstairs was excellent too. We will definitely return.

"For an old town jailhouse it was quite the comfortable stay! The hotel is in a convenient location right at the Charles MGH T-stop and has everything you could need including a fully stocked bar right in your room!! "My fiance and I stayed here for the weekend last month while visiting family. The room was plenty big, very well appointed, had a nice view of Charles River. The bed was really comfy, the bathroom was huge and has a shower and bathtub. Overall the quality of the room was 5 star. What really sets this hotel apart is the staff. They were all extremely welcoming, helpful and courteous, and you can tell they have been very well trained. From the door and bell staff, the desk agents to our housekeeper, everyone was always making sure we were enjoying our stay and wanted to make it better if they could. This will be our go-to place when we visit Boston."

“I have wanted to stay at this hotel for some time and finally had the opportunity when we were in Boston for a wedding. Upon check-in, we were given a glass of champagne. What a nice way to start off our stay at the hotel! We had a king-size bed, which was very comfortable. The bathroom was especially nice. There was a separate shower and tub, and plenty of room in there for both. I was a little worried about the noise level since the lobby can be pretty noisy with all the restaurants and bars, but was pleasantly surprised that the room area was nice and quiet. The location is convenient to the T, so it is easy to navigate Boston from this hotel. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.”

We were there for three days, and two staff members were already addressing me by name! They offer free bike rentals, and we took advantage of this as well. I recently had the most perfect hotel experience at your establishment. I travel considerably for work and have often had the opportunity to stay in beautiful, high-end hotels. However, not once have I ever been so impressed with my experience that I felt I must express my gratitude in writing. Every moment at your hotel was an absolute pleasure – from the welcoming and responsive staff, to the beautiful décor, to the attention to small details (like the water bottle placed in my car by the valet).

I have never had a more enjoyable stay at a hotel and can assure you that all of my friends and colleagues will hear about it. Thank you.

This hotel was packed because of the Boston Marathon. However, everyone found time to be polite and helpful. The hotel was clean, the location was perfect (right across from the subway), and the staff was wonderful. I would stay here again. Note: Be sure to read the history of the hotel. It was once a prison.
